No, it doesn't matter. The thermal/ limit switch is a simple switch wired in series, so either wire can go on Limit In or Limit Out. Just make sure both connections are tight and the switch is clamped firmly to the boiler tube so it reads the temperature correctly. Heads up that the 2M0802 switch has been discontinued.
