Don't give up on it yet! The 617944 gas valve has been discontinued, but on the 3163 the valve usually isn't the problem. Most 3163 LP issues come from the wiring, the relighter board, or the thermocouple. The 628119 wire kit fixes a lot of won't-stay-lit problems on the 3163, and it's in stock. Before condemning the valve, confirm it really isn't opening. Our tech support service can help.
