A GFCI that trips when the fridge runs on AC usually means current is leaking to ground somewhere in the fridge's 120V circuit. The most common cause is the AC heating element, whose insulation breaks down over time. Check the heater, the AC power cord, and the wiring from the board to the heater for chafing against the metal frame. A failing AC section on the power board can also do it.
