Your description (the black canister getting hot, no cooling, and the freezer only cooling a little at first) points to the cooling unit. That black canister is the boiler area. If it's getting hot but the fridge isn't cooling, the ammonia solution isn't circulating the way it should. That usually means the cooling unit is blocked or has failed. Look for yellow powder near the boiler and check for an ammonia smell. Our ammonia smell guide and not cooling guide cover what to check.
The fans not running is a separate issue. The fan is switched by the fan thermostat 640235, and the N7 fan is the cooling unit fan 639702. If the cooling unit is bad, we carry the Norcold Cooling Unit 693298 for the N7. For a firm diagnosis, reach out to our Tech Support service.
