Yes, it can. On the N611 the thermal/limit switch is wired in series. When it opens, the board shuts down both propane and electric, and you'll usually see a fault code (often 6 flashes). Before you blame the switch, check that you've got a solid 12V DC to the board, since that also kills both modes. Our won't turn on checklist walks through it.
If the switch tripped, remember it's there because the boiler overheated. That's often a sign the cooling unit is failing. See our 6 flashes / fire hazard article. The Thermal/Limit Switch 2M0802 has been discontinued by Norcold, but we may still have limited stock. The N611 fridge is discontinued too, and Norcold's replacement is the Norcold N7X.
