I have a Norcold 512 refrigerator. It works fine on lp but on AC only the freezer is cold.

I have a Norcold 512 refrigerator. The refrigerator would only work on propane but not on AC. I found out the AC heating element was not wired correctly. I fixed the wiring and now the freezer is working but not the whole unit. I checked the ohms on the AC heater and it is 57.9. The specs call for 61.3 ohms of resistance. Is it likely that the issue is caused by a slightly worn out heater?

57.9 ohms against a 61.3 ohm spec is close enough. A worn-out element usually fails completely (open) instead of drifting a little. If the fridge cools fully on LP but only the freezer gets cold on AC, the element probably isn't delivering enough heat to the boiler. Check these:

1. Make sure the element is pushed fully into its pocket on the boiler and the insulation is packed back around it. 2. Check the voltage at the fridge with the element on. Low AC voltage (under about 110V) cuts its output quite a bit. 3. Give it a full 24 hours on AC with the fridge level.
