If the flame is lit but the board keeps sparking and the indicator light won't come on, the board isn't sensing the flame, and a second board failing the same way points to something else. Check the flame sensing path: make sure the thermocouple or sensor tip sits in the flame, and clean it along with the burner. Most important, check the ground and wiring between the sensor and the board. A weak ground or corroded connection gives exactly this symptom.
