If the flame is slow to draft up the flue after cleaning, check a few things. Make sure the flue baffle is in place, the burner sits directly under the flue tube, and the roof vent isn't blocked. A cold flue also drafts slowly for the first minute until it heats up, which is normal. If the flame burns lazy or yellow, recheck the orifice and LP pressure (about 11 inches water column).
