If the flame is strong and heats the thermocouple, but goes out as soon as you let go, the thermocouple isn't holding the gas valve open. Check these:
1. Hold the button a full 30-45 seconds after it lights so the thermocouple heats up. 2. Clean and tighten the thermocouple connection at the gas valve (and at the interrupter, if your model has one). 3. Make sure the tip of the thermocouple sits in the hottest part of the flame.
If it still won't hold, the thermocouple is the most likely cause. The Thermocouple 619154 for the N300/N302 is in stock. The interrupter 621737 is in stock too. The N302 is discontinued, and Norcold's replacement is the Norcold N4150. See our Norcold replacement guide.
