Usually not. After installing a new Optical Display Board 628979, just restore power and turn the fridge on. If the power board is in lockout from an earlier fault, you may need to reset it. See our lockout/reset article. The 628979 has been discontinued by Norcold, so it's only available while our remaining stock lasts. The N611/N811 is discontinued too. Norcold's replacement is the N7X for the N611 and the N8X for the N811. See our Norcold replacement guide.
