If it freezes on AC but cycles correctly on DC, the AC side's temperature control isn't shutting the compressor off. On the DE-series, AC and DC run through separate power supply circuits, so the AC power supply board or its thermostat connection is the likely cause, not the thermistor. The AC Power Supply Board 169000500 fits most DE models, but it has been discontinued by Norcold. Many owners simply run these on DC with a battery charger.
