Hi Robert, it's a good idea in theory, but it isn't practical on an N611RT. The 2-way N611 doesn't have a DC heater pocket on the boiler, so the DC Heater 626832 (which has also been discontinued by Norcold) wouldn't have a place to mount. Absorption DC heaters also draw a lot of current continuously, about as much as running the AC heater through an inverter, so they aren't efficient on solar. If you want to get off propane, a 12V compressor fridge like the Norcold N2175 uses far less battery power. See our Norcold replacement guide.
