That yellow powder is the sodium chromate from the cooling system, which means the unit has leaked and needs to be replaced. For the N811LT, the Nordic 3381A cooling unit is the replacement (it took over for the 3398) and it's in stock.
If you'd rather go with a whole new fridge, the Norcold N8X replaces the N8 series.
