There are actually two different heaters for these models, and which one you need depends on the cooling unit serial number (on a sticker on the cooling unit itself). The 621702 is for cooling units with a serial below 11231023. Above that, you need the 638374 heater. If the one you got is thinner than your old one, that's likely the mismatch.
