An ammonia smell means the cooling unit has leaked, so turn the fridge off and air out the RV. It can be fixed with a new cooling unit (for the N811, the Nordic 3381A, in stock), or you can replace the whole fridge with the Norcold N8X. On an older unit, many owners go with the new fridge.
