Updating a refrigerator that is 20 yrs old and has the recall fix.

Will updating the cooling unit eliminate the need for the recall fix and does it require a new control board.

I can't confirm whether a new cooling unit removes the need for the recall device, or whether you'd need a new board. The replacement cooling unit for the 1200 is the Nordic 6610.
