Absorption fridges do struggle when it gets cold. The cooling unit can slow down, and condensation can freeze in the drain. But since it quits when you run an electric heater, I'd also suspect the 120V supply. A space heater on the same circuit can drop the voltage to the fridge. Try the fridge on propane when the heater's on. If it cools fine that way, it's a power issue, not the fridge.
