Norco model N64X refrigerator freezing contents.

I understand, from reading your responses to others with a similar problem, that the only two things that could be the cause of the issue are either the thermistor or the front control panel. The fins to the right of the thermistor are frosted. Could this be all or part of the cause? Also there is rust on the thermistor. Could this effect temperature? We have had this refrigerator since new and have not had an issue, to this extent, in the past.

Yes, both could be part of it. Rust on the thermistor or its clip can throw off the reading, and if it isn't making good contact with the fin, the fridge keeps running and freezes things. Frost right next to the thermistor also skews what it senses. Clean up the fins, and make sure the thermistor clips tightly to the correct fin (the 10th from the right on most N6/N8 models). Given the rust, replacing it is cheap insurance. The 636658 thermistor fits the N64X and is in stock.
